Above all, we are looking for highly-motivated students who are willing to step out of their comfort zones, apply themselves to new kinds of learning, and dive into an immersive and collaborative three week experience. This program is partnered with the Tribes at Fort Peck (MT) and Hopi (AZ), so Sophomares and Juniors must be enrolled at one of the schools on these Reservations to be eligible to attend the program.
This program's curriculum is STEM oriented, but students with a wide variety of interests have participated in this program over the years. The program has first year (Y1) and a second year (Y2) components, but these parts run independnely of one another. Students must complete Y1 before applying for Y2 the next summer.
The application process for both Y1 and Y2 consists of a short essay submission. The NAHSP program staff work together with the Tribes to select each year's cohort of students. You can download the application below, and return the completed application to NAHSP@FAS.harvard.edu
